1. Not quite 16, but still enough. I’ve come to a decision to no longer buy any of the books due to Cards ever increasing rhetoric and gay bashing, but truth be told I probably wouldn’t have bought them anyway because I’ve more or less had my fill of the series. But then again that was what I thought when I finished “Children of the Mind” and then he surprised the hell out of me with “Ender’s Shadow” (I was persuaded by your very review to get back on the bandwagon!). Undoubtedly a very gifted writer, but an extreme radical at the same time. I was so taken with the conflicting feelings I had on this that I recommended a panel discussion for Can-Con this year which was approved. While not Card centric it was titled “Separating the art from the artist”, Card was of course featured in the discussion.
