First review of Star Wars Clone Wars movie is thumbs up

Forget the Batman hype, here's the first mainstream review of the science fiction movie you really want to see - Star Wars: Clone Wars. The verdict? It's good.

A tie-in to the movie is a new video game for the Nintendo Wii - Star Wars Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels. Knowing that a light-saber game would come one day is why I bought the kids (and myself) a Wii.

Both kids are still crazy for Star Wars. The oldest just celebrated his 8th birthday and he had a cool Death Star cake. It was an actual globe of chocolate cake with grey frosting with black icing and chocolate for detail. It was tasty and neat to look at, but it pales in comparison to this R2-D2 cake, which is possibly the best of its type that I have ever seen.

Lucasarts has always been good at marketing their product to children. One of their vectors has been the Sesame Street show as this blog entry demonstrates in great detail.

Meanwhile, if you've been thinking all this time that Star Wars was simply a story about the rise, fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker, what you may not realize is that the film has an environmental message. At least that's what this writer argues.
