Imperial Lambda-class shuttle landing on roof in San Francisco
That's amateur video? wow. Do you know what software they used?
The two scenes with the Imperial Shuttle are amazing!
][Death Star Destroys Enterprise][
Mike Horn's second Star Wars fan-film: Death Star Destroys Enterprise.
Moo-Aha.
That ought start (continue, or exacerbate - Ed) some gool ol Star Trek vs Star Wars geekwars.
Ja, Mike Horn (creator of both SW fanfilms above)'s FX are hyper impressive! in answer to your Q, so far the best answer I've found is this:
/BEGIN Article Excerpt/
He spent about 50 hours on his recent clip ("Death Star Destroys Enterprise" -Ed) he says, using Mocha for motion tracking, After Effects for compositing and Final Cut Pro for editing, sound design and mixing. He also raised the stakes by shooting in high definition with a Canon HG20.

21st Century Science Fiction Summer Music (China Blue+Röyksopp)
Greetings and welcome to today's tMods magical musical ..
um what's another word that begins with "M" Ed?
(malarchy? - Ed)
You can stop helping me now Ed.
No 60's space-theramin music to be found 'ere (yet - Ed)
Yes, yet, as I am trawling the net for some 60's space music.
Meanwhile I just noticed these 2 tracks 'ave been on increasing replay on the TAGpod this summer and I thought itd make a good excuse for a blog. uh I mean, I'd share them.
Ye can guess why (rampant decadence or nudity? - Ed) *cough*: they feed the SF need.
check em out after the warp.
(we think he means "after the jump" but even that doesn't quite make sense, since there isn't one - Ed)
Don't make me get all BugsBunny on your DaffyDuck posterior Ed.
(I believe the appropriate response is: "boiiii." *shrug* - Ed)
Right, so:
21st Century SF Song 1 Video 1: Röyksopp's The Girl and the Robot
Punch ))here(( to listen to The Girl and the Robot song (immediately -Ed).
Punch ((here)) to view The Girl and the Robot video (not so immediately Ed).
I apologize for the extra link work you 'ave to do to watch; tube-embedding on this video has been disabled by the RIAAtards.
Yes, that's Robyn guesting on Royksopp's vocals, and she's doing it again, that woman makes my teeth itch.
(humina humina -Ed)
If you'd like some more Royksopp, ye can listen to their entire imo excellent Night Out Live EP by hitting here all for the astoundingly reasonable price of free.
SF Song 2 Video 2: Wu Bai and China Blue's Spacebomb
Wu Bai is apparently Taiwan's answer to David Bowie - if David Bowie were Asian (or from Earth - Ed) and someone unplugged David's linear-progression evolution chip.
This bloke moves from Alternative to ballad to dance to pop and back again, quicker than you can say SuperfantasticHappyFunTime, also he does this all in the same day.
Here with his band Wu Bai and China Blue, I do believe he has found his inner Kraftwerk, and I do believe it is bloody good.
(in that insane retro-futiristic J-pop sort of way - Ed)
SuperFantasticHappyFun StyrofoamBaseballBat EdWhallop.

[NASA Offer] Send *Your* Name To Mars
NASA is at it again, being spectacularly inclusive and surprisingly social.
Yes, it's that time of year and NASA is offering to fly your name to Mars aboard The Mars Science Laboratory Rover.
In addition, you will also receive a printable certificate, wot looks like this:
Not bad, I prefer the classic certificate they issued on the Fly Your Name to the Moon offer, but I'm certainly not complaining.
I find this to be quite a bit of fun. And I find it has the ancillary effect of generating a more personal interest in the mission, when it takes place.
Simple + Fun + Educational = Win, imo.
Punch ))here(( to fly *Your name* to Mars!

Woohoo, I'm going to Mars!
Thanks for the info TAG,
I'm everywhere with NASA, Space, Moon, and now Mars. I've never traveled so much before.

[ The Age of Stupid ] + A Global Climate Change Solution
It is a load of fun isn't it Cosmic! Whatayaknow, Douglas Adams was right, we're now Hitchhiker's to the Galaxy! heh.
And Now back to our planet.
The Age of Stupid (The Movie -Ed) Global Premiere.
The Age of Stupid is a movie about a man living alone in the devastated world of 2055, looking at old footage from 2008 and asking: why didn’t we stop climate change when we had the chance?
imo one of the most important movies of our time.
For film screening and box-office dates, please see the official website, by punching ((Here))
(Although it's a GLOBAL premiere, I couldn't find any Canadian dates, WTFrag?)
Anyway, I have not seen the film as yet, but I'm sure it'll appear in Canada or if not then at least online.
AISI considering the high profile people involved, it might just succeed in waking people up and/or riling those that are already awake (who may be disheartened) into re-fueling and taking more action. The film may even suggest what I'm about to sugg, I don't know. I've sugged this before, years ago back on Tmods blog 1.0, I'm putting it forward again as a plan of action, because it seems to me this is an effective way to force our governments to act.
Considering our leaders are completely FAILING us (having figured out that you can SAY "we're looking into it and take it seriously" while they actually DO NOTHING but play golf -Ed) considering that, maybe it is time the people take matters into our own hands?
Me sugg:
Many of us live in Democracies, I think all around the Democratic world we ought say,
"Mr(s) President/Prime-Minister/P remiere,
Implement SERIOUS Global Climate Change Protection Policy _by the next election_ OR YOU ARE FIRED / or we WILL NOT vote for You."
I'm not a proponent of PANIC! or at least I wasn't back when we were first discussing this issue YEARS AGO here at TWATEOTU, but it seems to me having observed our various world government's INACTION over these past years, while our climate has gotten worse, our eco-system is fragging, our weather is increasing in severity (and people are DYING from heat-waves and increased disasters world-wide -Ed) that given things are getting worse, and STILL they do nothing, this may be our last best chance to force our governments to act responsibly.
If this film acts as a catalyst to raise the question, "OK, we're paying attention now, but how do we enact policy change?"
then my little sugg is above. I think it should be effective, at least in Democracies.
In short, if we the people follow through, and refuse to re-elect any leader that does not put in serious Climate Change Protection Legislation by the time their re-election date comes around, then AISI we will quickly have Climate Change Protection Policies enacted by people looking to replace the (voter) FIRED politicians.
That's me sugg.
