Robert Charles Wilson's Spin wins Hugo for best novel
Robert Charles Wilson took this year's Hugo for best novel at the Worldcon in L.A. for his book Spin. That will certainly make this year's Con*Cept in Montreal much more interesting as he's one of the guests of honour.
It was nice to see Peter Beagle winning the award for best novellette for Two Hearts, a sort of sequel to the wonderful book The Last Unicorn. I've always admired his stories. It was also a nice to see Forrest J. Ackerman get the "big heart" award. He truly deserves it.
While browsing the Hugo event photos, I discovered a link to the Midamerican Fan Photo Archive. It's a massive collection of photos from various cons so if you've ever wanted to put a face to the name of your favourite author, this is the place to do it.
With Wilson winning the Hugo and Robert Sawyer the Nebula, that's two Canadians winning big science fiction prizes in one year. Is this the start of a trend?
