An interview with John Kessel

John KesselIf you're a fan of John Kessel, you will probably enjoy this interesting interview with the author . One of his short stories is being adapted for the upcoming Masters of Science Fiction series.

Meanwhile, the New York Review of Books has a great review of The Road by Cormac McCarthy. It's a post-apocalypse novel and like most literary types, McCarthy probably wouldn't want this to be labelled as science fiction, but it isn't much of stretch to call it that.

For more reading about books, check out this story about a small press that's making a business out of reprinting classic science fiction and fantasy for kids. That surely sounds like a labour of love. I can't see anyone getting rich out of that business unless you're Disney and you're plundering public domain fairy tales to make animated films.

Finally, for more reading pleasure, I offer up this online horror novel.
