SCIENCE FICTION POETRY ASSOCIATION ANNOUCES HOME FOR ARCHIVE

The Science Fiction Poetry Association is pleased to announce the selection of the University of California, Riverside Libraries J. Lloyd Eaton Collection of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and Utopian Literature as the home for the organization’s archives.

The Science Fiction Poetry Association was founded in 1978 to bring together poets and readers interested in science fiction poetry.

The Science Fiction Poetry Association archives contain copies of the association’s publications Star*Line and the annual Rhysling anthologies, as well as other publications, promotional materials, Rhysling ballots and material specially collected for the archive.

UC Riverside’s J. Lloyd Eaton Science Fiction Collection is the largest collection of its kind in the world, and the most useful to scholars of any genre in the nation, according to the latest edition one of the field’s most authoritative reference works.

The Eaton Collection is “the premier collection in the U.S.,” states the fifth edition of “Anatomy of Wonder: A Critical Guide to Science Fiction,” edited by Neil Barron. The collection embraces every branch of science fiction, plus fantasy and horror, the reference says, and boasts the largest holdings of 17th- to 19th-century utopian and dystopian fiction in North America.

The Science Fiction Poetry Association working with the staff of University of California, Riverside libraries will coordinate a ceremony to coincide with next year's (2008) Eaton Conference.

Geckos and various Aerospace and Aeronautics Museums

As the Governess of Europa, it is my pleasure to award the Medal of Honor to the Geckos for rescuing the local orbiting Museum of Aeronautical History.

The geckos are in training to help continue providing aid to Venusian nuclear war survivors.

Feel free to broadcast this announcement to the moon, etc...

Just thought you all would appreciate the announcement locally.
