It wasn’t 106 Doctor Who episodes found in Ethiopia, but merely 9 in Nigeria. It’s still good news. 97 more to go! http://ow.ly/pJ0pE

Matt Smith is quitting Doctor Who? I’m only 2 episodes of David Tennant away from catching up with the “new” doctor! http://t.co/CJj7JNZAvj

What I really feel for: the current Doctor Who RPG re-branded itself when Matt Smith took over from David Tennant. Now they’ll have to re-brand again.

Ah well. In terms of episodes he’s close to Tennant. Behind, but close.

I must admit that although it took quite a few episodes before I got used to David Tennant after Christopher Eccleston, I still after all this time have not gotten used to Matt Smith.

I’m actually not even watching the new episodes thinking I’ll just catch up later when I have nothing better to do. But I’m not sure if I can blame the actor, I think the story line of Amy Pond killed it for me, I was super tired of her in the end and I wished they would just get rid of her but again, was it the actress or the story?

I’m betting it was more because of the boring story line. Maybe you can tell me what you think when you get to it.

    Doctor Who?

    No, it’s just the Doctor.

Matt Smith has signed on for two more seasons as Doctor Who? I haven’t finished watching the Tennant episodes yet! http://t.co/6glblynT

I never caught on with the 70’s series (Baker) because I only saw a few shows here and there sporadically. I really liked the Eccleston/Piper combo when it first aired and was able to make time to watch the first few episodes. But the Sunday night shows were not convenient and I did not want to bother taping them. I knew I really wanted to get back someday and I prefer to get into a show when a few seasons are already ‘in the can’. Yeah, it took me a long time, but the good news is I now have a LOT of shows to watch.

Nearly even convinced my son to pick up one of the many Dr. Who novels I have sitting on my shelves. He oped for Asimov’s “I, Robot” instead. Hmmm.

In our household, we’ve just started season 2 with Tennant. The good news is that my son enjoys the show so we get to watch them together.

It took me a while to warm up to Tennant because I really liked Eccleston. I think there is always a period of adjustment when a new actor takes on the Doctor’s role.

I haven’t tried watching the shows with my kids, but they probably would enjoy them. Perhaps when I start watching the Matt Smith episodes, we can start then so they’re starting with a fresh face.

I think that the first Doctor you watch becomes the definitive one for you.

Doctor Who has been around so long that it is a rare fan who has watched every available episode, especially those who only came onboard after the show's most recent revival. In reality, no one has seen every episode since more than 100 were intentionally erased by the BBC decades ago to free space in their tape library.
Over the years, some episodes have been recovered, but the amount of newly discovered material has slowed down enough that fans feared none of the remaining lost shows would ever be recovered. The good news is that some new episodes were recently found. Huzzah!
Who fans who can't get enough of the good doctor are also excited about an impending video game, but I have my doubts. It's not very often that any kind of video-game tie-in is very good and considering how good the show is, the game is going to have to be pretty special in order to measure up.
How good is the show? Well, it's one of the titles in this conversation that ponders the question of what is the best science fiction show on TV today. I can't think of anything better, although I'll be honest and say that I haven't seen much of the competition so I'm not the best judge.
The recent news that has some fans alarmed is talk of making a Doctor Who feature film. Most worrying is the quote from the would-be director that "it needs quite a radical transformation to take it into the bigger arena." Yikes.
The BBC has since tried to quash the rumour, saying that there is no Doctor Who movie in the works. I sure hope not.
