The X-Files theme song never had lyrics, until now, as the show’s cast reunites to record a charity music video. https://t.co/XRH9MbaK3G

X-Files fans will be interested by this story that explains how a minor actor on the show went on to become one of the series’ most important writers. Among his scripts were the wonderful episode “Clyde Bruckman’s Final Response.” https://t.co/XbzteXnJ21

Darin Morgan has always been my X-Files hero. Easily some of the best episodes made IMHO. Was stoked when I heard he was going to write one when they rebooted the series a few years ago. While I can’t say that episode, The Lost Art of Forehead Sweat, was a classic, it was certainly different.

Would it shock you if the X-Files revival introduces two new agents in order to have a spinoff show? https://t.co/YE9aTJa7G6

If you play the X-Files theme in a major key it sounds kind of chipper. http://t.co/s31rZDrJAv

Awesome news that Fox is talking about an X-Files reboot that would include David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. I want to believe. http://t.co/RUAWSQHY7O

Mixed feelings about this. We already know that Gillian is much happier with her new TV role and would probably not want to do the show, for now at least. Could they really rekindled the Mulder-Scully magic after all this time, or is it better to just leave well enough alone. Has there ever been a successful revival with an original cast? Doubt it. I think that ship has sailed.

It sounds as if Mulder and Scully would be supporting characters and there would be new leads carrying the show. In essence, that’s what they tried to do in the final season with agentsJohn Doggett and Monica Reyes. It failed, but I think it’s because the show had been on for so long, but now that enough time has passed, I think there is a renewed appetite for The X-Files. I want to believe!

X-Files star Gillian Anderson has made an effort to distance herself from the genre that made her famous, but now she’s back as an author of a science fiction series for a new publishing imprint.
Actually, she’s co-writing the books with someone else so there’s no saying how much actual writing she’s doing, but her name will no doubt be twice as large as her co-author’s and she’ll probably do a lot more of the media appearances to promote the series.
As for the premise of the books, they are about Caitlin O’Hara, a child psychiatrist who is treating a young patient with problems are tied to a greater force in the universe. The truth is out there.

Much as I like Anderson, I won’t hold my breath for this. Aside from the fact that she has no wrting credentials whatsoever, the name co-author “Jeff Rovin” rang a bell. I knew I had Rovin books, but as it turns out not on my extensive pile of fiction (even though he’s written a bunch of movie novelizations). Check out his bibliography (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Rovin#Fiction_and_novels)
I know I have “Back to the Batcave” and pretty sure I have some of other general info book, probably the SF movie related one.

Could X-Files 3 star Simon Pegg? I’d simply be happy no matter who was in X-Files 3, even Whoopi Goldberg. http://ow.ly/ooT5X

I think this essay about the profligate spending in The X-Files is a satire, but I can never tell with U.S. politics. http://t.co/rkRNNYXOHL

There’s no news on a possible X-Files 3 movie, but there are new comic books in the work to keep the franchise alive. http://t.co/Rv3602Pv

I completed my collection of the first run of the Topps X-Files comics only last summer. I haven’t read them all yet, but I mostly enjoyed those that I read, including those that were adaptations of TV episodes. Since then, there have been a few comic reboots and even cross-overs, but I haven’t bothered with those. I looks like X-files will be one of franchises that will always comes back, again and again in comics because there are enough fans that have fond memories of the show.

I wonder if X-Files will ever get a reboot with new actors portraying Mulder and Scully or if it could come back with two new agents chasing down paranormal cases, kind of like they were trying to set up at the end of the show.

I just watched a fan-edit called Exordium which attempts to stitch together five mythology episodes from Season 1 as a single movie. Not sure how successful it was. It felt like I watched three distinct episodes that were vaguely connected. If you’re ever interested to check it out, follow this link: http://www.fanedit.org/ifdb/component/content/article/84-fanedit-database/tv-to-movie/689-x-files-exordium

I bought the complete series DVD set and only have the last 2 seasons to watch again. I actually missed a few of the episodes in the ninth season when they were first aired as I began to loose interest in the series, but I’ve been told that a few of the episodes I missed were actually good.
I too noted many of the ‘celebrities’ the second time around. The Jack Black episode also stars Giovanni Ribisi (Electricity boy) which makes that an especially cool episode.
I’ll be finished biking through Smallville season 2 next week and will then be watching season 8 of X-Files.
