- John Carter trailer looks better than I expected. I wish they’d use the original story title: Under the Moons of Mars. http://ow.ly/5FxMN
I have actually liked the movie, they kept it as true to the original as they could any more so and I think it would have made no sense (remember that originally John Carter only had thoughts of Mars and there he was), I have read the complaints of reviews and I think they expected too much from such an old story. Fans wanted more true to the original and others wanted something more innovative. I think it was well balanced for an action space opera (sins of the mushy middle?). This is much better than any Transformer (Karina will kill me if she reads this).
A lot of this seems predictable formulaic and things already seen in other SF movies, but lets all remember that this story was written way before anything else (except for Verne and Wells), A good fun movie with lots of action and good SFX. I will eventrally purchase this on DVD and watch it again.
