And yet, sometimes they underestimated progress in some areas. A lot of old movies and TV shows underestimated the miniaturization and power of computers and even the display technology. But, yes, I’m still waiting for my flying car. 🙂 At this point I just hope that we make it back to the moon sometime during my lifetime.

Did not read the entire piece, but some interesting stuff there. So many things are nowhere near his estimated progress but a few are spot on. In many cases the definitions themselves have to be considered (such as ‘appliances’). Sadly the one place where he missed the mark was the use of robots for food production/serving. I want my “automeal” now.

I groaned as soon as I read the line about our lunar colonies. Sadly, it was a little too far off the mark. I think the thing that we never get right about the future is that things take a lot longer to change than we think they do.
