The Chicago Tribune launched a new column on books and reading. The inaugural edition will interest science fiction fans as it references Illinois’ sons Ray Bradbury and Gene Wolfe. It’s also notable because it makes mention of Wolfe’s connection to Pringles.

I wanted to start here because, when I think back on a life of reading, when I try to recall the spark that transformed me into this creature called a reader, when I think of that first time I felt some independent joy from a book, I think of Bradbury. Probably many of you do, too.
